Greetings, 

I am the owner of Soma health and wellness,
Soma, meaning body as distinct from the soul and mind. The concept came about
as a vision I had as a young girl.  Growing up my mom was consistently absent in my life. When she was present, she exposed us to situations no child should see. I am forever grateful that my grandmother stepped in and raised my sister and me. The dysfunction in my life led to me needing an outlet. That outlet became dance. It was a place where I could escape from my reality and enjoy the freeness of dance. Dance soon became my passion and I still enjoy dancing to this day. My other passion is people but ironically, I am truly an introvert. More than a decade ago I was diagnosed with cancer. That battle with cancer led me to learning about health and wellness. You can say that cancer changed the course of my life. After my victory over cancer, health became my mission in life. I took all that I learned and became a registered nurse. Soma connects my passion for wellness, my education and my love for people.Therefore, I felt it was important to offer services that address the body as a whole. My love for people pushed me to want to share my experiences with my community and the world. As a mother of three, I want to show them the importance of doing what you love and serving others. It is so rewarding seeing others  receive help from your giving. The world is tough, and I just want to create a space where people can come let loose, unwind, and feel/look good while doing it.
